Before I learned Docker, building full-stack apps locally was a painful process. If an app depended on services like PostgreSQL or Redis, I usually had to connect to a remote database using platforms like PlanetScale or Neon. That works, but every query goes over the internet, which causes noticeable delays and makes local development feel slow.
